SCANG was founded in 1957. There are 840 employees and 30 percent of them are technicians. It covers an area of 18,000 square meters and possesses a capital of more than 110 million RMB yuan. SCANG has an institute of new products, a  designing institute and the organic products monitoring station. SCANG has  built industrialization base in Chengdu and Chongqing. Our academy has been forming the three mainstay industries: 1. Taking preparing HCN by ammoxidation of natural gas as key technology, research and industrialization of cyanide series products. 2.research and  developmentod C5 alcohol based on acetyl or  ketone and its derivatives. 3. research and industrialization of highly fine and functional chemical products.

SCANG has built more than 14 sets of plants of preparing IDA, ABVN and EDTA  and so on from HCN or NaCN. Sodium ferrocyanide was awarded National Invention  Prize, its productivity is more than 10000 tons, the quality, quantity and  export volume are in the leading position in China. More than 3000 tons were  exported per year. The output value was 108 million RMB yuan in 1997. SCANG  integrates research, production with trade, and possesses import and export license. SCANG was listed one of the 300 institutes with comprehensive  strength of science and technology.
