錐形量熱儀符合GB/T16172-2007《建築材料熱釋放速率試驗方法》,規定了採用外部點火器，試樣在水準定位受到可控制等級的熱輻射時，測定熱釋放速率的方法。熱釋放速率的測量是通過燃燒產物氣流中氧氣濃度計算出的氧消耗量和燃燒產物的流量來確定的，同時也對試樣引燃（持續有焰燃燒）時間進行了測量
